Rocky Point

Okay, I'm finally getting on here and writing about our vacation in August...  & this is really making me miss it...

Clay and I had been planning all year to go on a trip to the beach before school started up again. We wanted to have a relaxing week with absolutely nothing on our agenda.  We discussed a few places we could go, but in the end I am a cheapskate and I wanted to plan the cheapest vacation possible.  We figured that Rocky Point was the closest to us, (only 4 hours away) and we got great deals on condos there so we could make our own food and not go out to eat for every meal.

We booked our hotel for 5 nights. It was 25 minutes from the main attractions in rocky point and it was awesome!  I think because we went so late in August, there weren't too many vacationers.  When we went swimming we always had the pool to ourselves, and when we got in the ocean it was either just us two, or two other people in the water but still quite a distance away.  It was amaZAzing! I remember the last time I went to Huntington Beach in CA, we searched for like 20 minutes to find a place to squeeze our beach towels in between other people's beach towels.  It was serious maddess.
(I am lucky there were many people out however because I almost died that day in the ocean... luckily a boogie boarder and a life guard were there to save my life!! ... but still... it wasn't a relaxing day at the beach) haha.

Okay, let the pictures begin!
Bonuses: There are photos here that have not been posted on facebook.
Disadvantages: It was literally us two the entire trip so most of our photos look pretty much the same....

Our hotel
We went out to the beach every evening while the sun set.  The weather was absolutely perfect and the ocean water felt like bath water.  We would explore the coral reef, find shells, or throw a frisbee. The sunsets were bright orange and pink... and awesome.
Here's us on the day we went into town. We only ended up going out to eat once while we were there and it actually wasn't that great of an experience.  Our waiter would only speak Spanish to us (when I knew he could speak English), and only offered us the Spanish menu. Luckily Clay speaks Spanish so it wasn't a problem, but I needed extra time to decide on my food because he had to translate everything to me.  Our waiter came over like 5 minutes after we got there and said to Clay, "are you going to take forever because we have lots of people coming in right now." I was super annoyed and the food wasn't even that great when we got it. It was also SO crazy hot that day and we were eating outside, so I just wanted to get the heck out of there!
After we ate we did look around some shops.  I was proud of myself, I got a dress for 20 bucks when this guy was trying to get me to pay $45. Saaweet.
Lots of beach fun!
Okay, this was seriously the most scrumptious breakfast I have ever made/eaten.  We even put grape juice in these champagne glasses to make it look that luxurious. It was the bomb.

The rest of our photos are from our last day there. I love these pictures!

Our drive back home was not so great, we were stuck in the middle of no where during a crazy storm.  There were so many random dips in the road that flooded so we had to sit and wait in front of a freaking river running across the road for an hour and a half before we could cross! It was nuts but we finally made it.

I had my fried Katie stop by every so often to watch over our apartment while we were gone.  We arrived home to this adorable little sign!

We really had the best trip together. It was so much fun and so nice to be able to relax and wake up to a beautiful beach outside.
So long Rocky Point, until next time! And we are definitely planning on a next time!
