Birthday Boy

Yesterday was Clay's 22nd Birthday. It's so crazy to me how old we're getting. . . I started dating him when he was seventeen. Now we are about to have wrinkles!! hahaa

Anywho, the night before I lucked out because Clay fell asleep while I was folding laundry, so I got to set up the house for his little birthday celebration for the next morning. I blew up a few balloons and made birthday signs with computer paper, post-it notes, and sharpies - - the only supplies we have... our ink cartridge also ran out so that was awesome. I was afraid I was going to wake him up with all the commotion in the living room, so I actually went in the bathroom and turned on the fan for a lot of the preparation. If he woke up maybe he wouldn't ask questions about what was going on in there. . . ;). To finish it off, I set up his "cake" --Which was actually a hideous pile of Donettes. I imagined it being a lot cooler, but in order for it to have turned out slightly cute I probably needed to buy at least two more bags of those suckers. I would have just baked a regular cake, however, Clay isn't a big fan of cake & we were going to his parent's house later that night for a feast. So I thought building a little "snacking cake" would be more appropriate. I'm not sure how, but it did support all 22 candles.

SO he woke up the next morning to a line of post it notes along the wall, & some on the mirror in the bathroom, as well as a decked out living room... ready for a paartay (for two) hahaa. Since we're Xtra poor, I gave him certificates for things he would like, such as 30 minutes of Halo together, 15 Rock Band songs in a row together, massages, and so forth. I also got him Forrest Gump and the Patriot which were both a bargain @ Target, and some of his favorite snacks for the car ride up to Queen Creek. The grand finale gift was. . . drum roll. . . two tickets to see Battle: LA. This was exciting for both of us because we had not yet been to a movie theater in Tucson.

After all of the present fiasco, we headed over to Denny's in our PJ's and Clay got his free Grand Slam. We had a little extra time before the movie so he played some Halo and was sure to inform me that he dominated on his birthday haha. Lucky him. So we went to the movie, and then drove straight to see his family. There we ate lots of food, played games and had a good night! I feel bad I didn't take many pictures there. But we were glad we could see everyone! & He loves his NEW Settler's of Catan!

So it was a successful day. Happy Birthday to the man of my dreamsss! ♥
